I got to see the little guy take some steps tonight and it was so great getting to see such a milestone and watching the satisfaction and pride on his face. on the other hand I was overcome with guilt that I wasn't there to see it for the first time. I know he's in great hands when daddy and mommy are away from him working to support him and pave the road toward his future, but there are times that I can't deny it would be perfect to be around that sweet baby all day and all night.

At 11 months and 1 week-ish, daycare called me on my way to bootcamp last night to let me know that the little guy took 2 steps on his own before taking a digger, and getting a pretty solid bruise on his left cheek. he kept practicing all day and was one TIRED guy last night. will try to get video of this milestone!

I just ran across this Dr Seuss Nursery collection. I think I'm going to have to get some of these, they look super fun :)

he makes his fishy face for a split second to appease me. he'll crawl around with a fishy face and makes it a lot when I'm not trying to capture it of course.

one of little guy's daycare teachers sent this to me. every week the different rooms have different themes. the theme in the big kid room a couple of weeks ago was pirates and princesses, and they had a party with costumes. here he is partying with the big kids with an eyepatch.

yummy dessert and telling me about the baby food lid - sounds very informative.

when I picked him up from daycare yesterday, I asked him where ginger and hazel were. he looked at me like I was nuts and shook his head as if to tell me - mom, you know they aren't here.
here's little guy shaking his head tonight at dinner:

little guy now has 6 teeth with number 7 coming any day now. overall, his mood is still very happy which I'm grateful for.
his new trick is shaking his head "no". it doesn't always mean no, mostly he does it with a big grin on his face. will try to capture it on camera.

I've been doing bootcamp for...I think 8 weeks now at a local gym. the first night I couldn't even run a lap (6 laps is a mile) around the entrance of the subdivision where we do most of our running and circuit/weight training. I had a meltdown at that first session. I felt so disgusting. I couldn't believe how out of shape I was and that I had let myself get that way.
my family is a huge inspiration. my loving husband and my sweet baby boy. even though I'm away from them for an extra 2 hours a week, this is such a huge thing to do in the long run.
I'm now down about 14 pounds, I've lost about 1% body fat and I'm just gonna keep going.
HUGE personal WIN tonight at bootcamp. I RAN the entire warmup tonight. we started running this trail a few weeks ago - it's a trail through the subdivision around a pond. it's enjoyably scenic. I'm going to take my gps along to measure the trail on Thursday night, but we think it's about 3/4 mile. I ran it all. no stopping to pant. no walking to catch my breath. just in control running the entire time. feeling = overjoyed.
