these are some cute lil wild flowers:

here's our new rhubarb:

and the pretty peonies (even tough they have a million ants):

these were annuals that we planted when I was pregnant - they've become more than annual:

even though it needs some weeding, here's the bed we made when I was pregnant:

driving

he got to drive this little car at his cousin's house over the weekend.

he was getting pretty good at honking the horn.

stripes

we got this sweet little romper at the old navy outlet at a sale awhile back and since it's supposed to be in the 70s today, it was a perfect day to wear it. not sure why, but the pics are blurry.

lamplighter park

we were waiting for mr c's alternator to be rebuilt at a great starter & alternator repair place that we've gone to in the past (MJ Auto Electric on 124th in Brookfield/Milwaukee just north of Hampton Ave). we had run some other errands, and mr c wanted to show me a park he found since he's been working at his current job. the weather is lovely today, although they're predicting some nasty storms later. we walked around the pond and went on the little pier and i knitted and he watched the ducks and frogs and especially the fish.

He is the Good Shepherd

My sister-in-law lost her 5 month battle to uterine sarcoma on Sunday morning.

We are so grateful to everyone for all of the kind words, support and prayers that we've received over the past few days.

This was the closing hymn at church on Sunday, which happened to be Good Shepherd Sunday, and we found out only a short while later that Kim was called to her eternal resting place. This is one of my favorite hymns from childhood, and it has brought a lot of comfort.

"I Am Jesus' Little Lamb"
by Henrietta L. von Hayn, 1724-1782

1. I am Jesus' little lamb,
Ever glad at heart I am;
For my Shepherd gently guides me,
Knows my need, and well provides me,
Loves me every day the same,
Even calls me by my name.

2. Day by day, at home, away,
Jesus is my Staff and Stay.
When I hunger, Jesus feeds me,
Into pleasant pastures leads me;
When I thirst, He bids me go
Where the quiet waters flow.

3. Who so happy as I am,
Even now the Shepherd's lamb?
And when my short life is ended,
By His angel host attended,
He shall fold me to His breast,
There within His arms to rest.
