big boy shoes

so - he's wearing a size 6. we found a few pairs a shoes on clearance on a recent trip to target. this is one of the pairs we found for like $7.

taking the stairs

little guy mastered going down the stairs on his belly quite a while ago. he's now starting to want to walk down like mommy and daddy.

great embarrassment

being a parent is not without crazy stories and lots of embarrassment. last night was full of these.

i brought up the laundry bin from the basement, and set it down by the gate to take up later when we all go up for bed. well...the little guy decided to take a pair of my underwear, and put it on his head. then the pair slid down and basically was like a bib on him. as soon as i saw it, i busted out laughing, which made it that much funnier, because then he started laughing. LOL! not sure what was more embarrassing - the fact that he was wearing my underwear - or that it was almost as big as he is!

we went upstairs to get ready for bed. little guy and i were headed into his room to get him in his jammies. daddy went into the bathroom to ... relieve his bladder. (backstory: little guy thinks it's the funniest thing when he see's daddy go #1. he giggles when he hears the noise it makes) so, you know, little guy hears this, and makes a bee line to the bathroom, and sure enough - sticks his hand in the stream. in the midst of disgust and laughing and getting him away, i quickly propped him up and we washed his hands. well. there you have it.

praying

Just have to share that we try to pray the Lord's Prayer every night. We've been working on having the little guy fold his hands when praying. The cutest thing happened at church on Sunday - he folded his hands when everyone started praying the Lord's Prayer. How precious.

reading

he grabbed a fabric book from his room this morning, went into the guest room and sat on his baby bouncy chair to read.

I got home from lessons and carols (our church's Christmas concert) and the tree was up and decorated. mr c is so great! note - there are only ornaments on the top half. apparently there was a little elf who was taking ornaments off as fast as daddy was getting them up.

the angel topper was a paper twist craft I made when I was little. she still looks great!

I finished my first "fancy" mitten this week. I'm not completely happy with it. so I'm gonna make simple ones to match my coat, then do a new pair of fancy ones when I've a better handle on it.

got this treasure at our white elephant exchange at work today! complete with dust, and a missing remote. really excited to hook up the old nintendo to it!

TWENTY-FIVE

after forty weeks of joining Weight Watchers, and making a change in my habits, like doing 24 weeks of bootcamp, i've officially lost 25 pounds! i don't want to sound weird, but i'm so proud of myself. i'm shocked at how easy it is to pack those pounds on, and how long it takes to get that crap back off. i'm only partway through my journey, but i'm looking forward to more of my long lost clothes in the closet fitting! i'm only 3 pounds away from when i bought my wedding dress. i think that's pretty awesome. ok. enough about me. i super appreciate all of your support. it means so much and more than you'll ever know.

on Sunday I sang no.8 recit: "Behold! A Virgin Shall Conceive" & no.9 aria: "Oh Thou that Tellest Good Tidings to Zion" from Handel's Messiah. admittedly I had some breath issues, but I had a lot of fun!

little guy only has 8 more baby teeth to come in. he's currently cutting all of canine teeth. this is how he is tonight. inconsolable. I feel so bad for him. he's very cuddly and needs lots of loving.

cortney came over last night for dinner and to hang out while she's in town. we had a great time!

shoes

we've been doing the annual purge and deep clean around the house in preparation of thanksgiving and having everyone over.

daddy put all of junior's shoes in his room in one spot. junior was helping and grabbed one shoe and sat and put it by his feet and made his "ah ah" noise to have me put it on. I told him we weren't going any where, and to put it back with the others, and he did.

the next thing I know, he brought a pair of my shoes in, and put them by his. so sweet. he's a good, little helper.

there's a family at church with three little boys. the youngest is just a few weeks shy of turning 2. he and Junior were having a blast running around during bible class.

he's so gentle with everything he does. even a high five is careful.

hmmm. wondering if little guy is allergic to cinnamon. made him oatmeal with bananas and cinnamon. but, where ever the mixture has touched his face, his skin is red. doesn't seem to be affecting him any other way. something to talk to the doctor I suppose.

trick or treat

we went around the block tonight to the neighbors that we know. little guy got lots of compliments on how cute he was as a duckie. we took some pictures at the house before and after we went trick or treating.

duckies and punkins

a few months ago, the company i work for acquired a new warehouse space. this weekend, they threw a pig roast and had an open house. costumes were welcome. here's is little guy as a duck.

then we went home and carved punkins. i did the cat/spider, and little guy did the cute monster. daddy did the grim reaper and the creepy face.
