Santa

what does Santa say?

"Ho, Ho, Ho, be good."

now quite sure where he picked that up, but it's what he says every time. too funny.

also, scissors are "sike".

a correction, music is "moo-kits".

techno hat - done

techno hat

I started this hat yesterday. I'm loving it. I'm making it with my yarn that I use for testing a pattern instead of wrecking the expensive yarn. I just use the "one pound" yarn from Jo-Ann's. at this point I don't even know the details of it anymore. I just have a TON of it, so I use it.

Dijon chicken

I didn't take a picture - but it looked like chicken. I didn't want to spend a year on dinner since its just the little guy and me tonight. so I found some frozen chicken tenderloins. I put the oven at 375F. in my FABULOUS pampered chef stoneware small bar pan, I put the frozen chicken. on each tenderloin I put a little chunk of butter (prolly 1/4T each), a squiggle squeeze of Dijon mustard, a healthy grind of the poultry seasoning grinder from Aldi, a sprinkled of crunchy onions, and of course salt and pepper. baked that for 25 minutes. yum. Delish!

nap cot - update

it worked! little guy napped at grandpa's all week. in other news, he napped for 2 hours and 20 minutes today at daycare. they had to wake him up. I think there may or may not be some growing happening.

owies

since hazel demolishes any toy we get for her or ginger, we only buy toys on clearance. a recent purchase was a snake with like 7 squeekers, and a tail rattle. the squeekers have all been removed. the other night, little guy pointed at it and said "nake, owies." I asked him how the snake got the owies. he said "ayz-ah, jin-jah, bite dat." yup. that's about right.

say cheese

little guy loves looking at the pictures on the digital camera. he figured out how to turn it on and go through them and everything. he also figured out the toggle that turns it to camera mode. tonight he was going around to everything while looking at the camera screen. "momma, cheese!", "fow-ers, cheese!", "gin-gee, cheese!".

nap cot

little guy has not been napping at grandpa's house. I'm positive it's because he's outgrown the current nap routine involving the pack n play. so we got a cot at babies r us to try - it was only $30. it has a sleeping bag that fits over the top of it. this will be awesome for camping too. here he is trying it out.

progress

my BMI is now down to 33, I've lost almost 40 pounds, and I wore my new size L workout shirt to boot camp tonight. I'm feeling pretty good about my birthday on Sunday.

photo shoot

i got a groupon a few months ago for a sears portrait studio shoot. we went on sunday afternoon, then went out to Fuddruckers for dinner to watch the end of the Packer game. On another note, little guy now yells, "go pack go" and "all done, packers" when there are commercials. here's a link to the photo shoot. Unfortunately, the two-year-old was feeling not so camera ready, and we had a really hard time getting him to be still for the camera, much less smile for it! so, there are quite a few mug shots, and some other interesting facial expressions. whatever - there's always next year.

aunt arlene

my aunt Arlene passed away on labor day. here we were in June celebrating her 62nd birthday.

these are a few of my favorites.

the little guy and I drove out to Nebraska on Thursday and came back on Saturday. he is a very good car traveler. here are a few moments from the trip.

we stopped for lunch in Dubuque and instead of locking him into a high chair, he got to sit in his own booth.

he enjoyed riding the elevator, especially jumping in the elevator.

here is the little man sitting with grandma on a bench swing at the woodworker's store while papa was looking around.

had to say hi to the horsey at little amana.
